LTTS and ThyssenKrupp Steering Partner to Launch Global Software Hub in Pune

Strategic alliance to drive next-generation automotive software and intelligent mobility innovation from India

In a bold move to shape the future of intelligent mobility, L&T Technology Services (LTTS) and thyssenkrupp Steering, a global leader in steering systems, have announced a strategic partnership to establish a state-of-the-art global software development center in Pune, India.

The new hub will serve as a nerve center for cutting-edge automotive software solutions, aligning with global trends in electrification, autonomous driving, and software-defined vehicles. LTTS, a top-tier engineering and technology services company, will establish and manage the center on behalf of thyssenkrupp Steering.

A Turning Point in Mobility Engineering

The partnership underscores the growing importance of software innovation in the automotive industry, particularly in domains like embedded systems, functional safety, and cybersecurity—key pillars of modern steering systems.

“This center will play a crucial role in driving innovation and delivering next-generation steering solutions to our global customers,” said Richard Hirschmann, SVP R&D, thyssenkrupp Steering.

LTTS has long been recognized as a pioneer in mobility engineering, with leadership in electrification, hybrid systems, and connected vehicles. Its credentials are further strengthened by 250+ mobility programs, 350 patents, and 45 innovation labs worldwide.

“This collaboration highlights LTTS’ leadership in delivering intelligent, sustainable mobility. By adding a prominent Tier-I automotive partner like thyssenkrupp to our portfolio, we reaffirm our position as a go-to innovation partner,” said Amit Chadha, CEO & MD, LTTS.

Bridging Global Innovation and Indian Engineering Talent

This new software hub in Pune aims to integrate thyssenkrupp’s deep expertise in E/E architecture and advanced steering systems with LTTS’ scalable engineering capabilities.

Patrick Vith, CEO of thyssenkrupp Steering, emphasized the strategic vision:

“Our ambition is clear—to be the most trusted partner for steering solutions worldwide. Through innovation and operational excellence, and with partners like LTTS, we aim to shape the future of mobility.”
