Zoomcar Partners with Google Cloud to Integrate Generative AI Across Car-Sharing Platform

BENGALURU Zoomcar Holdings, Inc. (OTCQX: ZCAR), India’s largest peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace, has announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud to embed Generative AI (GenAI) and advanced machine learning into its platform. The move aims to streamline host onboarding, enhance fraud detection, and improve overall guest and host experiences.

Leveraging Google Cloud’s Gemini models and Vertex AI platform, Zoomcar has already seen measurable operational improvements. In the last fiscal year (FY24–25), the company reported a 44% improvement in Adjusted EBITDA, with contribution margins hitting a record 47%. These gains are attributed to the growing role of AI in automating and optimizing platform processes.

One of the key developments from this partnership is Host Assist, a Large Language Model-powered AI assistant built on a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) framework using Gemini Flash 2.0. Host Assist offers real-time, policy-aware onboarding support to prospective car hosts. Available 24/7, the tool has led to a 30% reduction in average onboarding time by offering instant answers to host queries, reducing dependency on human support teams.

To further empower hosts, Zoomcar is also developing a Host Intelligence Engine — a personalized insights platform offering data-backed recommendations. Starting with pricing strategies, the engine compares host performance with top earners and suggests optimizations to boost revenue and lifetime value.

In its broader GenAI strategy, Zoomcar is applying machine learning models to address operational issues like host cancellations — a known driver of guest dissatisfaction. By analyzing text and voice interactions using Gemini models, the platform can now identify accountability in cancellation cases and apply corrective measures, which is expected to improve reliability and reduce cancellations.

On the guest side, Zoomcar has enhanced its fraud prevention system through a real-time AI engine integrated with its Customer Data Platform (CDP). This system analyzes encrypted KYC documents, identity markers, and user behavior patterns to flag potentially fraudulent activity. Early implementation has already increased detection accuracy and is expected to boost host confidence and platform trust.

“Generative AI is transforming how platforms operate, and Zoomcar is leading that transformation in the mobility space,” said Sashi Sreedharan, Managing Director, Google Cloud India. “Their use of Vertex AI and Gemini sets a new benchmark in user experience, efficiency, and trust.”

Vishal Ramrakhyani, Head of Product & Engineering at Zoomcar, added, “We’re embedding AI across every workflow. Our goal is to create real-world impact — not just for guests and hosts, but for every interaction on the platform.”

Zoomcar operates in over 90 cities and continues to scale its AI capabilities to redefine urban mobility and car ownership in India.
