Housr Launches Zero Deposit Rentals to Make Premium Co Living More Accessible

The premium co living operator has partnered with CirclePe to introduce a zero deposit rental model, allowing residents across India to move into rental homes without paying large upfront security deposits

India’s rental housing market is gradually embracing financial innovation as technology driven solutions reshape the way people find and pay for accommodation. In a move aimed at reducing one of the biggest financial hurdles for tenants, Housr has launched a zero deposit rental solution across its properties through a partnership with fintech platform CirclePe.

The new offering enables residents to move into Housr properties without paying a traditional security deposit. Instead of locking away a substantial amount of money at the beginning of a tenancy, residents can opt to pay a smaller monthly fee through an integrated financing solution embedded within the Housr resident app.

Security deposits have long been a major challenge for renters, particularly in metropolitan cities where landlords often require deposits equivalent to several months of rent. For young professionals, students and individuals relocating for work, these upfront costs can place significant pressure on personal finances.

By introducing a zero deposit model, Housr aims to simplify the move in process while making premium co living spaces more financially accessible.

Commenting on the initiative, Deepak Anand, Co founder and CEO of Housr, said the company remains focused on improving the overall resident experience through technology and customer centric innovation.

“Housr has always focused on making premium living more seamless for residents, and this partnership takes that experience a step further. By removing the deposit barrier and enabling seamless technology integration inside our app, we are making move ins simpler for our customers.”

The announcement comes at a time when India’s organised co living sector is witnessing rapid expansion. According to industry estimates from Colliers, the country’s co living market is expected to grow fivefold and reach ₹200 billion by 2030, driven by increasing urban migration, changing work patterns and rising demand for professionally managed rental housing.

Despite this growth, high security deposits remain one of the biggest barriers to entry for many tenants. In cities such as Bengaluru, upfront deposits for rental accommodation can often reach ₹2 lakh or more, tying up significant personal savings before residents even move into a property.

The integration of fintech solutions into the rental process reflects a broader trend across India’s property technology ecosystem, where digital platforms are simplifying leasing, payments and tenant management. By embedding financing directly into the resident journey, companies are seeking to create more flexible and transparent rental experiences.

Housr believes the initiative will help accelerate the adoption of zero deposit rentals while supporting a more resident friendly housing ecosystem. The company expects the model to reduce financial stress during relocation and improve accessibility to premium rental accommodation across its network.

As India’s rental housing market continues to evolve, innovations that combine real estate with financial technology are expected to play an increasingly important role in making urban living more affordable and convenient for a growing mobile workforce.
