L’Oréal Paris and Shark Tank India Join Forces to Give Women Entrepreneurs a Head Start

Mumbai: In a move that blends brand purpose with entrepreneurial empowerment, L’Oréal Paris has partnered with Sony LIV’s Shark Tank India to launch an exclusive early-access application window for women entrepreneurs. The initiative is designed to encourage greater participation of women-led startups by giving aspiring founders an opportunity to apply for the upcoming season of Shark Tank India before registrations open to the general public.

The collaboration is one of the first initiatives of its kind between a global beauty brand and India’s leading startup reality platform, reflecting the growing focus on improving access to mentorship, investment, and visibility for women entrepreneurs.

Women selected through the exclusive application window will enter the Shark Tank India selection process, where they will have the opportunity to present their businesses before a panel of investors while gaining exposure to one of India’s largest entrepreneurial audiences.

The initiative comes at a time when women-led enterprises are playing an increasingly important role in India’s startup ecosystem. Although female entrepreneurship continues to grow across sectors including technology, consumer products, healthcare, education, and sustainability, access to funding, networks, and mentorship remains a significant challenge for many founders.

Programs that improve visibility and connect women entrepreneurs with investors are increasingly being viewed as critical for building a more inclusive innovation ecosystem. Similar developments continue to shape conversations around women entrepreneurship and India’s startup ecosystem, where access to capital and mentorship remain key priorities for sustainable business growth. According to L’Oréal Paris, the partnership is rooted in the brand’s longstanding philosophy, “Because You’re Worth It,” extending the message beyond beauty to support women pursuing leadership and entrepreneurship.

Rather than limiting empowerment to brand campaigns, the company says the collaboration seeks to create tangible opportunities for women to transform business ideas into scalable enterprises through guidance, investment opportunities, and national recognition.

To mark the initiative, L’Oréal Paris and Shark Tank India have also released a campaign film on Sony LIV. The film portrays the hesitation many women experience when considering entrepreneurship, highlighting challenges such as self-doubt, societal expectations, and fear of judgment. It concludes with an invitation encouraging women across India to take the first step toward building their businesses by applying through the exclusive registration window.

The campaign reflects a broader shift among global consumer brands, many of which are increasingly integrating social impact initiatives into their business strategies rather than treating them solely as corporate social responsibility programs.

For Shark Tank India, the collaboration aligns with the show’s broader objective of expanding entrepreneurship across India by attracting a more diverse range of founders. Since its launch, the platform has become one of the country’s most influential startup ecosystems, providing entrepreneurs with access to funding, mentorship, strategic partnerships, and nationwide brand recognition.

By creating an exclusive entry pathway for women entrepreneurs, the initiative aims to encourage greater representation of women-led businesses across industries while helping promising founders access resources that may otherwise be difficult to secure.

Applications under the special window will remain open from 2 July to 11 July 2026, ahead of the show’s wider registration process. Selected applicants will proceed through Shark Tank India’s standard evaluation process for a chance to pitch their ventures before the panel of investors in the upcoming season.

The initiative was developed with WPP Media serving as the strategic media partner. The company designed platform-first integrations intended to seamlessly connect L’Oréal Paris’ women’s empowerment agenda with the Shark Tank India format, creating a campaign that extends across television, digital platforms, and social media.

The partnership also reflects the evolving role of major consumer brands in supporting entrepreneurship beyond their traditional business categories. Increasingly, companies are investing in initiatives that help develop startup ecosystems, foster innovation, and build long-term economic participation among underrepresented groups.

L’Oréal Paris, the world’s largest beauty brand, has consistently positioned itself around women’s confidence, self-worth, and empowerment. With more than four decades of scientific research and innovation in beauty, the company has expanded its purpose-led initiatives globally through programs focused on gender equality, education, and safety, including its internationally recognized Stand Up Against Street Harassment campaign.

As India’s startup landscape continues to mature, collaborations between corporate brands and entrepreneurial platforms are expected to become more common. By combining Shark Tank India’s reach with L’Oréal Paris’ advocacy for women’s empowerment, the initiative aims to reduce barriers to opportunity while inspiring more women to pursue entrepreneurship and scale businesses that can contribute to India’s growing innovation economy.
