Campaign highlighted the Tricolour as a symbol of unity while celebrating the individuality expressed through the colours of Indian homes
Asian Paints celebrated the spirit of Independence Day with its latest print campaign, “5000+ Colours of Freedom,” a tribute to the colours that shape India’s homes and the people who live in them.
At the heart of the campaign was a striking visual collage featuring homes from across the country. Three homes rendered in saffron, white and green brought the identity of India to life through Asian Paints’ colour swatches. The campaign connected the colours of the nation with the thousands of shades reflected across Indian homes, reinforcing the idea that a home’s colours can become an expression of identity, personality and belonging.
The campaign carried the evocative message, “Yeh Rang Hi Humara Asli Pata Hai,” suggesting that colour can often communicate something more personal and powerful than an address.
Building on Asian Paints’ previous “The Colours of India” campaign, which brought the Tricolour to life through a curated palette of Asian Paints shades, the new campaign shifted the focus towards the “5000+ Colours of Freedom.” The three colours of the Indian Tricolour remained central to the campaign as symbols of shared values, national pride and belonging. Alongside them, the brand’s extensive palette represented the individuality, aspirations and personalities that make each Indian home distinctive.
Together, the campaign presented a simple but resonant idea: India’s unity does not diminish its diversity. Instead, the two exist side by side, with a shared national identity providing the foundation for millions of individual expressions.
For more than eight decades, Asian Paints has helped homeowners translate their ideas and aspirations into living spaces through colour. Its extensive range of shades has enabled consumers to create homes that reflect their individual preferences and personalities, while the Asian Paints Warranty has combined aesthetic choice with long term protection.
Commenting on the campaign, Amit Syngle, Managing Director and CEO, Asian Paints, said that India’s strength lay in its diversity and in the many identities, stories and aspirations represented across the country. He noted that this diversity was reflected every day in homes and spaces, where colour became an expression of personality, individuality and belonging.
Syngle added that the campaign celebrated both the three colours of the Tricolour that united Indians and the more than 5,000 shades that gave individuals the freedom to express their identity. The message, he said, was inspired by the belief that every colour told a story and that together these stories formed part of India’s vibrant social fabric.
The campaign was featured across leading national and regional newspapers, supported by digital extensions designed to reach consumers across the country during the Independence Day celebrations.
Through “5000+ Colours of Freedom,” Asian Paints positioned colour as more than a decorative choice. It became a metaphor for the balance between collective identity and individual expression, with the Tricolour representing what Indians share and thousands of other shades reflecting the freedom to be distinct.
The campaign ultimately celebrated three ideas at the heart of Independence Day: the freedom to choose, the pride of belonging and the individuality that gives every Indian home its own character.
