TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad have announced a landmark achievement that underscores the strength and longevity of their strategic partnership. The companies have crossed the 200,000-unit production milestone, marking more than a decade of collaborative engineering, innovation and global market success. The announcement reflects the maturity of the Indo–German alliance, originally forged in 2013, which has since become one of the most influential partnerships in the sub-500cc motorcycle segment worldwide.
The milestone was celebrated at TVS Motor’s state-of-the-art Hosur manufacturing facility, where the 200,000th unit rolled out, symbolising the deep integration and shared vision between the two companies. The event also marked the commencement of production for the new BMW F 450 GS, a motorcycle that was recently unveiled at EICMA 2025 and has already generated strong interest among riders seeking a blend of performance, design and adventure capability.
Commenting on the achievement, KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, emphasised the impact of the long-standing partnership. He said the collaboration is rooted in engineering synergy and a shared commitment to innovation and quality. Reflecting on the journey, he noted that the alliance has created path-breaking products that resonate across major markets in Europe, the Americas and Asia. He highlighted that their jointly developed motorcycles are now embraced by riders in more than 100 global markets. Radhakrishnan described the 200,000-unit milestone as a celebration of excellence and a symbol of new beginnings, particularly with the rollout of the new BMW F 450 GS, which demonstrates TVS Motor’s advanced capabilities in high-end motorcycle manufacturing.
Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad, echoed this sentiment, describing the milestone as a testament to the success and resilience of the partnership. He noted that what began as a bold alliance has evolved into an extraordinary success story, with the sub-500cc lineup playing a crucial role in BMW Motorrad’s global expansion. He highlighted the worldwide popularity of the BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS and G 310 RR, which have become key contributors to the brand’s growth and customer reach. Flasch added that the introduction of the BMW F 450 GS marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their shared journey, reinforcing the companies’ commitment to delivering innovative and world-class motorcycles to riders across continents.
With the next phase of collaboration underway, both companies are investing in new platforms, advanced mobility solutions and future-ready technologies. Their joint research and development efforts are aimed at meeting evolving customer needs across urban mobility, adventure touring and premium motorcycling.
