Tuhin A. Sinha Spotlights MSME-Led Defence Innovation at Parashar Future Defence Technologies

Visit underscores the growing strategic role of indigenous drone manufacturing and high-technology MSMEs in advancing India’s defence self-reliance agenda

BJP National Spokesperson Tuhin A. Sinha recently visited Parashar Future Defence Technologies and Parashar Industries, engaging closely with the company’s indigenous drone manufacturing capabilities and its expanding contribution to India’s defence and high-technology MSME ecosystem. The visit highlighted the increasingly central role played by agile, innovation-driven Indian manufacturers in strengthening national security and industrial competitiveness.

The interaction gains particular relevance against the backdrop of the Union Budget presented after Operation Sindoor, which has accorded Defence Services an unprecedented allocation of ₹7.85 lakh crore for FY 2026–27. Accounting for nearly 2% of the estimated GDP and 14.67% of total Central Government expenditure, defence spending now stands at the highest allocation among all ministries, reflecting a decisive policy emphasis on security, self-reliance, and long-term capability building.

The Budget signals a carefully calibrated balance between development, security, and indigenisation—an approach widely viewed as essential amid persistent global supply chain disruptions and rising geopolitical uncertainties. As nations increasingly prioritise domestic capacity over external dependence, India’s defence ecosystem is being reshaped to reduce imports and strengthen indigenous manufacturing, not only for operational continuity but also for future modernisation.

Reinforcing this direction, the Ministry of Defence has earmarked ₹1.39 lakh crore—nearly 75% of the Capital Acquisition budget—for procurement from domestic industries in FY 2026–27. This clear policy signal provides long-term demand visibility to Indian manufacturers, encourages private investment, and enables domestic players—particularly MSMEs—to assume a more substantive role in developing advanced defence capabilities.

During the visit, Tuhin A. Sinha interacted with Nagender Parashar, CEO and Director of Parashar Future Defence Technologies, along with the senior technical team. He was briefed on the company’s end-to-end drone development lifecycle, spanning design, in-house research and development, precision manufacturing, testing, and deployment—executed entirely within India. The engagement underscored Parashar’s emphasis on engineering rigour, quality assurance, and mission-ready performance, positioning it as a credible Indian product brand catering to defence and select civilian applications.

With nearly 28% of the total defence allocation directed toward capital expenditure, upcoming acquisition programmes are expected to cover next-generation fighter aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, drones, smart and lethal weapons, naval platforms, and specialised systems. In this evolving procurement landscape, MSMEs such as Parashar Future Defence Technologies are increasingly viewed as reliable partners capable of delivering nimble, technology-driven solutions aligned with future operational requirements.

The visit also brought into focus Haryana’s emergence as a key node in India’s defence manufacturing network, supported by a strong industrial base, skilled talent pool, and steadily improving infrastructure. Companies like Parashar Industries are moving up the value chain—from conventional manufacturing to design-led, innovation-centric product development—while generating employment and contributing to regional economic growth under the Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat initiatives.

Speaking after the visit, Tuhin A. Sinha observed that the work being undertaken at Parashar reflects the tangible outcomes of sustained reforms in defence procurement, private sector participation, and ease of doing business. He noted that Indian MSMEs are now playing a decisive role in advanced manufacturing and innovation, with direct implications for national security, economic resilience, and job creation.

Nagender Parashar said the company’s growth mirrors the confidence generated by policy stability and a supportive industrial ecosystem. He added that Parashar Future Defence Technologies continues to invest in research, skilled engineering talent, and robust quality systems to deliver high-performance indigenous solutions while contributing meaningfully to India’s defence preparedness.

As India accelerates its push to reduce import dependence and deepen domestic participation in strategic sectors, enterprises such as Parashar Future Defence Technologies exemplify how MSME-led innovation, strong product focus, and manufacturing depth can simultaneously advance national security objectives and long-term economic development.
