Bangalore, Karnataka, India: Truecaller, the leading global communications platform, today announced the appointment of Vikas Khanna as Senior Director, Ad Sales, Truecaller India. In this role, Khanna will lead Truecaller’s direct advertising sales business in India, with a mandate to scale premium brand partnerships, accelerate adoption of direct-only inventory, and expand industry-vertical-led solutions as the company enters its next phase of growth in advertising.
The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Truecaller’s ads business. Over the past year, the company has undertaken a strategic transformation of its advertising organisation, shifting toward industry-led, data-driven solutions that enable advertisers to gain deeper insights, learn faster, and build more tailored, results-focused partnerships. This evolution has resulted in the launch of premium, direct-only inventory, custom innovation packages, and offerings that extend well beyond standard third-party inventory access.
In parallel, Truecaller has strengthened its measurement and analytics capabilities through advanced data science and AI-powered insights. A key milestone in this journey has been the introduction of ROI of Trust, a proprietary framework designed to quantify the real business impact of trust-based advertising. By translating trust into tangible advertiser outcomes and case studies, the framework underscores Truecaller’s belief that effective advertising must be measurable beyond surface-level metrics.
With more than 25 years of leadership experience across print, television, and digital media, Khanna brings deep market understanding and a proven track record of building and scaling high-impact advertising businesses. He joins Truecaller after holding senior leadership roles at several of India’s most respected media and technology organisations, including Jio Hotstar, Star Sports, ITV Network, TikTok, NewsX, TV18, NDTV Network, Times of India, and the India Today Group. His appointment significantly strengthens Truecaller’s senior leadership bench within the ads organisation.
Commenting on the appointment, Hemant Arora, Vice President – Global Ads Business at Truecaller, said, “Direct brand relationships are central to how we see the future of advertising at Truecaller. As a platform that plays a meaningful role in consumers’ daily lives, we believe advertising must be built on a data-first approach, powered by AI, and measured beyond surface-level metrics. With strong foundations now in place spanning industry expertise, premium inventory and advanced measurement, this is the right moment to scale. India is a strategic market for us, and Vikas’s entrepreneurial mindset and deep market understanding make him the ideal person to take this forward.”
Khanna’s mandate will focus on expanding Truecaller’s direct brand ecosystem, strengthening sector-specific solutions, and driving innovation that aligns advertiser objectives with user trust. As brands increasingly seek environments that deliver both attention and accountability, Truecaller’s daily-use positioning offers a distinctive advantage—combining scale with credibility in moments that matter.
On his appointment, Vikas Khanna, Senior Director, Ad Sales at Truecaller India, said, “I’m excited to join Truecaller at a time when trust, attention and outcomes are becoming central to effective advertising. Truecaller’s position as a daily-use platform, deeply embedded in consumers’ lives, creates a unique opportunity for brands. I look forward to working with the team to build strong direct partnerships, drive industry-led innovation, and deliver meaningful, measurable value for advertisers.”
Truecaller’s advertising proposition is anchored in its role as an essential communications utility. With hundreds of millions of users relying on the platform every day, advertisers gain access to high-frequency, high-intent touchpoints—supported by robust data, contextual relevance, and brand-safe environments. The company’s focus on trust-first advertising is particularly relevant as brands navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape shaped by privacy expectations, signal loss, and the demand for demonstrable ROI.
Truecaller is an essential part of everyday communication for over 450 million active users worldwide, with more than one billion downloads since launch. In 2024 alone, the platform identified and blocked close to 56 billion unwanted calls, reinforcing its role in creating safer, more trusted communication experiences. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Stockholm, Truecaller has been publicly listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since October 2021.
Advertising is Truecaller’s primary revenue stream. Truecaller Ads delivers approximately 5 billion impressions every day and is trusted by more than 10,000 brands globally. By combining scale, trust, and advanced measurement, Truecaller continues to redefine how brands connect with consumers in moments of real relevance.
