India’s biggest home-chef celebration returns with celebrity chefs, OTT spotlight, and 8 lakh+ cooking enthusiasts
India’s favourite home-chef celebration is back and bigger than ever. Slurrp’s Great Indian Cookout (GIC) returns for its fourth season, spotlighting the vibrance of Indian street food and home-cooking talent through the theme ‘Gully to Gourmet.’
Presented by USHA, co-presented by Aashirvaad, and supported by Foodies Only and OTTplay, the festival travels to Mumbai (Nov 1), Kolkata (Nov 8), Bengaluru (Nov 15), and Delhi (Nov 22) bringing together 8 lakh+ passionate home chefs and food lovers from across the country.
Since its inception, GIC has offered a national stage to India’s thriving community of home cooks. This year, the competition continues to expand its footprint, offering participants a rare opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and culinary identity.
A Street-Food Tribute: From Gully to Gourmet
Season 4 builds on India’s deep affection for street food. Participants were invited to reinterpret regional street favourites using Aashirvaad products in the preliminary round, with three shortlisted finalists from each city progressing to the grand on-ground showcase.
The winners will earn the opportunity to feature in an exclusive OTTPlay series, cooking alongside celebrated culinary icons and sharing their personal food stories with a nationwide audience.
“Slurrp Great Indian Cookout is a celebration of India’s unsung culinary heroes — the home chefs who blend tradition, creativity, and love into every dish,” said Avinash Mudaliar, CEO & Co-founder, HT Labs. “Through this platform, we want to spotlight their stories and the extraordinary diversity of India’s food culture.”
A Star-Powered Culinary Line-Up
This year’s judging panel is led by Chef Neha Deepak Shah, who will travel to all four cities as Judge-in-Chief. She is joined by an exciting rotation of culinary masters:
- Mumbai: Chef Amrita Raichand & Chef Akanksha Saigal
- Kolkata: Chef Doma Wang & Chef Shaun Kenworthy
- Bengaluru: Chef Shri Bala & Chef Kalyan Gopalakrishnan
- Delhi: Chef Nishant Choubey
Workshops, interactive cooking challenges, and mentoring sessions will be held across each venue, giving participants a chance to refine their skills while competing for top honours.
“As Judge-in-Chief, I hope GIC empowers home chefs to see that their everyday ideas are worthy of global stages,” said Chef Neha Deepak Shah. “Across all four cities, I want them to feel seen, celebrated, and inspired to experiment.”
Innovation Meets Tradition
Sharing his excitement, Sriram Sundaresan, President, USHA, noted:
“India’s culinary diversity is extraordinary. GIC is the perfect platform to celebrate this richness while demonstrating how innovation and technology can elevate everyday cooking experiences.”
With nearly 9,000 entries, GIC Season 4 continues to serve as a launchpad for aspiring culinary stars — offering visibility, mentorship, learning, and the promise of national recognition.
