RTX Neural Shaders: Bringing AI to Game Rendering

NVIDIA continues to innovate with the introduction of RTX Neural Shaders, a cutting-edge technology that integrates small AI networks into programmable shaders. This development unlocks real-time, film-quality rendering of materials, lighting, and other game elements, setting new standards for realism in gaming. NVIDIA’s RTX Neural Faces technology, which uses generative AI to create high-quality digital faces in real-time, is a prime example of this new capability.

These advancements are paired with ray-traced hair and skin technologies, along with RTX Mega Geometry, which increases the number of ray-traced triangles in a scene by up to 100 times. These innovations promise to elevate game characters and environments to unprecedented levels of realism.

Autonomous Game Characters Powered by AI

The GeForce RTX 50 Series also brings AI to the forefront of gaming with autonomous characters that respond to game events as human players would. Powered by NVIDIA ACE, these characters perceive, plan, and act autonomously, creating dynamic interactions. The ACE technology is already being integrated into popular games like KRAFTON’s PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, InZOI, and Wemade Next’s MIR5, bringing new levels of interactivity to gaming experiences.

AI-Powered Tools for Creators

The RTX 50 Series GPUs are designed to supercharge creative workflows, particularly for AI image generation. With support for FP4 precision, these GPUs accelerate generative AI models like FLUX, offering a performance boost of 2x over previous generations. Additionally, creators benefit from new AI-powered features in the NVIDIA Broadcast app, including Studio Voice for enhanced microphone audio and Virtual Key Light for better lighting during streams.

Availability

The GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs will be available on January 30, 2025. The RTX 5090 GPU is priced at $1,999, the RTX 5080 at $999, and the RTX 5070 Ti will be priced at $749. Laptop GPUs featuring the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti will be available starting March 2025, with the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU arriving in April.
