Firefly Diamonds Reaches 10-Store Milestone, Targets 25 Showrooms Across India by End of 2026

Mumbai: India’s lab-grown diamond jewellery market continues to gather momentum, and Firefly Diamonds is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation. The premium jewellery brand has announced the opening of its 10th retail store, strengthening its footprint across five major cities while outlining ambitious expansion plans that will see its network grow to 25 stores by the end of 2026.

Built on a six-decade family legacy in the diamond industry, Firefly Diamonds is redefining luxury jewellery for a new generation of consumers seeking sustainable, technologically advanced and design-led alternatives to traditionally mined diamonds. The company currently operates stores in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, serving more than 2,000 customers across engagements, weddings, anniversaries and everyday celebrations.

The latest milestone comes shortly after the launch of one of India’s largest four-storey lab-grown diamond jewellery stores in Mumbai, reinforcing the company’s aggressive retail strategy in one of the country’s fastest-growing jewellery segments.

A New Era for Diamond Jewellery

Unlike natural diamonds extracted through mining, Firefly’s diamonds are created in advanced laboratories using renewable energy while remaining chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds. Each stone is certified by internationally recognised gemological laboratories, giving buyers the same assurance of quality while offering greater affordability and sustainability.

According to co-founder Aayush Bhansali, changing consumer preferences are driving this shift.

“Our family has been in the diamond business for three generations, but today’s customers are looking for exceptional craftsmanship, meaningful design and a smarter way to own diamonds,” he said. “Crossing the 10-store milestone is an important step, but our larger vision is to make premium diamond jewellery accessible to a wider audience across India.”

Craftsmanship Meets Technology

Despite embracing modern production techniques for diamond creation, Firefly continues to emphasise traditional craftsmanship. Every jewellery piece undergoes more than 100 hours of production through a detailed 20-step manufacturing process before artisans hand-set each diamond.

The finished products then pass through a comprehensive 100-step quality inspection, with the company selecting only the top two percent of diamonds for its collections.

This combination of advanced technology and handcrafted precision has become one of the brand’s defining differentiators in an increasingly competitive market.

Personalised Luxury Experience

Firefly has also invested heavily in customisation, offering customers a more personalised buying journey.

Its Firefly Studio platform enables buyers to create customised engagement rings by choosing from over 50,000 possible combinations of diamonds, settings and designs.

Meanwhile, the company’s Firefly Reserve service focuses on bespoke jewellery, transforming heirloom pieces, family stories and personal inspirations into one-of-a-kind creations crafted specifically for individual customers.

The company has also introduced an Old Gold Exchange Programme, allowing customers to exchange existing gold jewellery for store credit that can be used toward purchasing new lab-grown diamond collections.

Since the diamonds are grown domestically, Firefly says the initiative also supports Indian manufacturing while keeping more value within the country’s jewellery ecosystem.

Expansion Backed by Fresh Investment

Firefly’s growth ambitions have received a significant boost through external funding. Earlier this year, the company secured USD 3 million in investment led by venture capital firm WestBridge Capital, which manages assets exceeding USD 8 billion.

The funding will support the company’s next phase of expansion as it targets 25 stores by the end of 2026 and plans to reach approximately 60 retail locations thereafter.

Alongside company-owned outlets, Firefly is actively seeking franchise partners to accelerate its national expansion strategy.

Collections for Modern Consumers

The brand’s growing portfolio reflects changing jewellery preferences among younger buyers.

Its All Ways You collection features transformable jewellery designed to transition effortlessly from everyday wear to formal occasions, while Maxim caters to the expanding men’s jewellery segment with contemporary designs.

Another flagship range, the Eden Collection, draws inspiration from nature, incorporating flowing vines, leaves and botanical motifs into elegant diamond creations.

These collections are designed to appeal to consumers seeking versatility, individuality and jewellery suited to both everyday use and special occasions.

Sustainability Beyond the Product

Environmental responsibility remains central to Firefly’s business model.

Beyond producing lab-grown diamonds using renewable energy, the company plants one tree for every customer purchase. Buyers can track the growth, location, carbon offset and environmental contribution of their tree through a dedicated digital platform, creating a tangible sustainability initiative linked to every jewellery purchase.

The company’s social commitment extends further through CADIndia, a non-profit initiative established by the founders to provide affordable training in computer-aided jewellery design and manufacturing. The programme has equipped hundreds of aspiring designers with industry-ready skills, creating new employment opportunities while supporting India’s jewellery manufacturing ecosystem.

As demand for ethical luxury and sustainable consumer choices continues to rise, Firefly Diamonds’ expansion reflects a broader shift within India’s jewellery industry—where innovation, craftsmanship and environmental responsibility are increasingly shaping the future of fine jewellery.
