ACES India, a fully owned subsidiary of ACES (Saudi Arabia), partnered with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to deploy advanced 4G and 5G In-Building Solutions (IBS) across Mumbai Metro Aqua Line-3, marking a major leap in urban transit connectivity in Maharashtra. The partnership was announced during a remarkable day for the state’s infrastructure landscape, which also featured the inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport and the launch of the “Mumbai One” app—designed as a unified mobility and ticketing solution.
The opening of Phase 2B of Mumbai Metro Line-3 (Colaba–Bandra–SEEPZ), stretching from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade, further highlighted the region’s rapid urban transformation. The events took place in the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The collaboration between ACES India and BSNL would ensure uninterrupted, high-speed mobile connectivity throughout the 33.5 km underground metro corridor, covering 27 stations and tunnel networks. The rollout represented BSNL’s first deployment of a next-generation IBS system in a metro project in Maharashtra—setting a new benchmark for seamless underground digital coverage and enhancing commuter experience for millions.
Dr. Akram Aburas, Group CEO of ACES, emphasized the partnership’s significance for India’s digital progress, stating:
“This collaboration with BSNL is a milestone in India’s digital infrastructure journey. ACES India is leading the way in extending next-generation connectivity to urban transit systems, supporting the broader vision of a connected India.”
Mr. Mohammed N. Mazher, Managing Director of ACES India, highlighted the company’s commitment to high-tech public infrastructure:
“We were proud to partner with BSNL for this landmark project—our first metro IBS deployment in Maharashtra. As a fully owned subsidiary of ACES, Saudi Arabia, we brought global expertise and local execution strength to transform how connectivity integrates with urban mobility.”
Chief General Manager of BSNL Maharashtra Telecom Circle, Shri Harinder Kumar Makkar, described the initiative as a major step in strengthening digital access in crowded metropolitan environments:
“This partnership with ACES India marked a significant milestone in BSNL’s commitment to expanding next-generation telecom infrastructure in high-density urban environments. The Aqua Line-3 IBS rollout would set new standards for underground connectivity and public service delivery.”
The signing ceremony featured senior dignitaries and engineering officials from both organizations, reinforcing collaboration across technical, commercial, and execution teams.
Beyond the immediate connectivity upgrade, the project reflected BSNL’s national commitment to modernization and ACES India’s growing footprint in India’s smart mobility, infrastructure, and telecom innovation sectors. With advanced IBS technology designed to deliver superior indoor coverage, the initiative aligned strongly with India’s Digital Public Infrastructure goals.
