Global leaders to convene in New Delhi for a two-day summit on sustainable trade (SUTRA 2025), climate resilience, and gender equity.
Key Highlights:
As global markets shift toward transparency and responsible sourcing, India is embedding sustainability into its growth narrative. Flagship government programs such as NMSA, Bharatiya Prakritik Krishi Paddhati (BPKP), and the Soil Health Card Scheme have collectively benefited millions of farmers, while DAY-NRLM has empowered 80 million rural women in inclusive supply chains.
“SUTRA 2025 reflects India’s emergence as a hub for sustainable trade and inclusive growth. The summit aims to co-create solutions and forge partnerships that make growth economically rewarding, environmentally responsible, and socially just,” said Jagjeet Singh Kandal, Country Director, IDH India.

SUTRA 2025 underscores India’s growing influence in sustainable global trade. With collaboration across government, industry, and civil society, the summit aims to transform responsible sourcing from a niche practice into a national growth driver—linking farmers to global markets through equitable, climate-resilient, and inclusive systems.
For 15 years, IDH (The Sustainable Trade Initiative) has worked to transform markets by driving collaborative innovation, investing in inclusive business models, and mobilizing private sector capital for sustainability. Its programs span agriculture, apparel, manufacturing, and commodity value chains across multiple countries.
