Octave Unveils New Brand Focused on Unleashing Intelligence at Scale

Potential Hexagon spin-off introduces unified identity to support mission-critical infrastructure across design, build, operate and protect stages

Octave has launched its new brand identity, marking a significant milestone in its planned transition into an independent company. The business, which is positioned as a potential software spin-off from Hexagon AB, brings together a broad portfolio of solutions aimed at helping organizations manage complexity, uncertainty and risk across critical infrastructure and industrial environment.

Octave combines Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence and Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial divisions along with the Bricsys, ETQ and Projectmates businesses. The new identity reflects a consolidated vision: to unleash intelligence at scale by transforming fragmented operational data into actionable insight across the full lifecycle of assets.

The brand introduction signals more than a visual refresh. According to company leadership, it represents a clear articulation of mission and purpose as the organization moves toward potential independence. The proposed spin-off remains subject to board and shareholder approvals, regulatory clearances and other conditions, and there is no guarantee the separation or listing will occur.

Industrial enterprises and infrastructure operators are increasingly navigating a landscape defined by operational complexity, disconnected systems and data silos. Leaders face mounting pressure to maintain safety, performance and reliability while adapting to volatile market and regulatory environments. Octave’s positioning centers on helping these organizations cut through uncertainty and make informed decisions when stakes are high and failure is not an option.

The company’s portfolio integrates domain-specific artificial intelligence with engineering, operational and geospatial technologies. By connecting data flows into a contextualized platform, Octave aims to deliver real-time intelligence that enhances performance and accountability across four interconnected pillars: design, build, operate and protect.

In the design phase, Octave solutions support 3D modeling, engineering analysis, simulation and geospatial intelligence. These tools enable teams to create information-rich digital representations that serve as the foundation for downstream processes. By embedding data at the earliest stages, organizations can improve accuracy and reduce rework across project lifecycles.

During the build phase, Octave connects engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning workflows. The integrated approach coordinates materials, tracks progress, manages design changes and enhances cost and schedule predictability. This unified visibility is intended to minimize delays and reduce fragmentation in complex projects.

In the operate stage, the platform brings together operational data, maintenance histories, quality systems and workforce tools. The result is improved situational awareness and predictive intelligence that supports asset optimization and system reliability. By consolidating real-time and historical information, organizations can better anticipate issues and maintain consistent performance.

The protect pillar focuses on safety and security. Octave’s solutions address public safety operations, physical security, emergency management, situational awareness, industrial cybersecurity and regulatory compliance. The objective is to safeguard people, property and critical infrastructure through integrated digital oversight and rapid incident response capabilities.

Mattias Stenberg, Chief Executive Officer of Octave, emphasized that the brand launch represents a commitment to enabling better decisions in high-consequence environments. He noted that the company’s purpose is to provide clarity and accountability when complexity is high and operational resilience is essential.

Octave reports approximately 7,200 employees across 45 countries, reflecting a substantial global footprint. The company’s software supports industries including energy, utilities, transportation, manufacturing, construction and public safety—sectors where digital transformation must be aligned with strict reliability and safety requirements.

Alongside the brand announcement, Octave introduced its new website, octave.com, and expanded its social media presence to communicate how its solutions support critical assets and infrastructure worldwide. The refreshed identity is designed to present a cohesive market presence that aligns the company’s diverse offerings under a single strategic narrative.

As digital transformation accelerates across industrial and infrastructure domains, organizations are seeking platforms that unify data, streamline workflows and embed intelligence into decision-making processes. Octave’s strategy centers on bridging domain expertise with advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to help enterprises respond to operational challenges with speed and precision.

Key highlights:
