The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), along with its Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) and autonomous institutions, has completed the Preparatory Phase of the Government’s Special Campaign 5.0—an initiative led by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav banner. The campaign aims to institutionalize Swachhata (cleanliness) and streamline administrative efficiency across government offices.
Conducted from 15th to 30th September 2025, the preparatory stage focused on identifying pending matters, reviewing official files, and establishing plans for better record management and office cleanliness. The Ministry worked systematically to ensure that every division and institution under its purview was ready for the upcoming implementation phase.
Among the key actions undertaken during this phase were:
The Ministry’s efforts were strongly supported by its two CPSUs—Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI)—along with its three autonomous institutes: the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), and Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Bio-Energy (SSS-NIBE). Together, these organizations reinforced the campaign’s goals by integrating sustainability, efficiency, and cleanliness into their operational frameworks.
Having successfully concluded the preparatory phase, MNRE and its institutions are now transitioning to the Implementation Phase, which began on 2nd October 2025 and will continue until 31st October 2025. During this period, the focus will shift to execution—ensuring all identified targets are achieved and best practices are embedded in day-to-day functioning.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to making Swachhata a continuous and institutionalized effort, rather than a one-time campaign. Through Special Campaign 5.0, MNRE seeks not only to improve administrative efficiency but also to reflect the Government of India’s broader mission of fostering transparency, accountability, and cleanliness across all departments.
By combining the ethos of Swachh Bharat with principles of renewable energy and sustainability, MNRE continues to set an example in governance—demonstrating that clean energy and clean administration go hand in hand.
