Greenhouse Appoints Sagar Patel as Chief Technology Officer to Drive AI-Powered Hiring Innovation

NEW YORK: Greenhouse, the industry-leading hiring platform, has announced the appointment of Sagar Patel as its new Chief Technology Officer. With a robust background in engineering leadership across top-tier companies such as PayPal, Ampla, and BlackRock, Patel joins the company at a pivotal time of expansion and innovation.

Greenhouse is rapidly scaling with new product offerings including Real Talent, MyGreenhouse, and Dream Jobs, and Patel’s leadership will be instrumental in guiding the company’s next phase of growth. With extensive experience leading high-performing technical teams, Patel is expected to accelerate the adoption of AI technologies within the platform while enhancing the overall hiring experience for businesses and candidates alike.

At PayPal, Patel served as Head of Engineering for revolving credit products, leading the development of globally used high-volume financial tools. As CTO at Ampla, he spearheaded the launch of innovative banking and credit products. Earlier in his career, Patel helped scale engineering teams at both BlackRock and Lunchbox, further demonstrating his talent for growing teams and delivering value through technology.

Reflecting on his new role, Patel said, “Hiring technical talent is never easy. The only times I’ve felt confident during the recruitment process were when I was a hiring manager using the Greenhouse platform. Now, I’m excited to contribute to solving the same hiring challenges I’ve experienced firsthand.”

Patel will collaborate closely with Chief Product Officer Meredith Johnson to modernize the product development lifecycle and build solutions that leverage agentic AI — software designed to act autonomously in support of recruiters. The focus will be on anticipating the needs of both hiring teams and future job seekers.

Daniel Chait, Co-founder and CEO of Greenhouse, expressed his confidence in the new hire: “Sagar’s sharp approach to technology is exactly what we need as we balance the power of AI with the critical role of human decision-making. His leadership arrives at a perfect time as we expand globally and serve larger customers with advanced hiring solutions.”

Beyond his professional work, Patel enjoys golfing, running, and hiking, and cherishes time with his two daughters. His passion for technology remains evident — more often than not, he’s found writing code or exploring emerging tech trends.
