Fire-Boltt Expands into Smartphones with New Made in India Brand ‘boltt’

The wearables giant is entering India’s highly competitive smartphone market through its new brand boltt, backed by Flipkart’s nationwide reach and an ambitious target of selling one million devices

After establishing itself as one of India’s leading smartwatch and connected device brands, Fire-Boltt is making a significant move into the smartphone segment with the launch of boltt, a new Made in India smartphone brand developed in partnership with Flipkart.

The launch marks an important milestone in the company’s evolution from a wearables specialist to a broader consumer technology player. Having built an ecosystem of more than 40 million users, Fire-Boltt is now leveraging its consumer insights and technology expertise to compete in one of India’s largest and fastest evolving electronics markets.

The upcoming boltt smartphone lineup will include both 4G and 5G devices across the Evo and Ace series. The company says the portfolio has been designed specifically for Indian consumers, with a focus on affordability, dependable performance and practical features that support everyday digital needs.

Manufactured in India, the devices also align with the country’s growing emphasis on local manufacturing and the expansion of the domestic electronics ecosystem.

The move comes as India’s smartphone market continues to witness rising demand from Tier II and Tier III cities, where improved internet connectivity, digital services and affordable mobile devices are driving the next wave of smartphone adoption. Homegrown brands are increasingly seeking opportunities to compete by offering products tailored to local preferences while capitalising on the government’s push for domestic manufacturing.

Speaking about the launch, Arnav Kishore, Founder and CEO of boltt, said the company sees smartphones as a natural extension of the connected ecosystem it has built over the years.

“Millions of consumers have welcomed Fire-Boltt into their daily lives, helping us build one of India’s largest connected consumer ecosystems. boltt is the next chapter in that journey. We believe there is a significant opportunity for a homegrown brand that truly understands Indian consumers.”

A key element of the strategy is the partnership with Flipkart, which will serve as the primary distribution platform for the new smartphones. Leveraging Flipkart’s extensive logistics network and deep presence across metro and non metro markets, boltt aims to reach consumers across the country through both online and wider distribution channels.

According to Mukund Kedia, Senior Director at Flipkart, the collaboration supports the company’s objective of making quality smartphones more accessible to Indian consumers.

The company plans to reveal additional product specifications and pricing details in the coming weeks, with expectations that the portfolio will cater to value conscious buyers seeking modern smartphone features without premium pricing.

Fire-Boltt’s entry into smartphones reflects a broader trend in India’s consumer electronics industry, where established wearable, audio and accessories brands are expanding into adjacent product categories to build integrated technology ecosystems. As consumers increasingly seek connected experiences across multiple devices, companies are looking beyond individual products to create broader technology portfolios.

Industry analysts believe the combination of a recognised domestic brand, local manufacturing capabilities and Flipkart’s nationwide distribution could position boltt as an emerging player in India’s competitive smartphone landscape.
