Chery Group Rises 152 Places in Fortune Global 500, Accelerating LEPAS’s Global Expansion

WUHU, China: Chery Group, one of China’s leading automotive manufacturers, has achieved a major milestone by climbing 152 spots to rank 233rd on the 2025 Fortune Global 500 list, marking the fastest ascent among all automakers this year. This achievement follows another key milestone: surpassing 5 million cumulative vehicle exports, making this group the first Chinese automotive brand to reach this threshold.

These twin accomplishments—dubbed the “Double 500” milestone—highlight Chery’s global competitiveness and serve as a powerful endorsement of the group’s ongoing internationalization strategy. They also create significant momentum for LEPAS, Chery’s premium mobility brand, which is playing a central role in the group’s efforts to expand into international markets.

LEPAS: A Flagship of Chery’s Global Vision

As an integral part of Chery’s globalization blueprint, LEPAS positions itself as a brand focused on future mobility, blending design, intelligence, and luxury under its guiding philosophy: “Elegance is Power.” The company integrates what it calls the “Leopard Aesthetic Design,” intelligent safety features, and a versatile platform architecture to support full-scenario driving experiences.

LEPAS benefits directly from Chery’s extensive global infrastructure and 22-year legacy as China’s top passenger car exporter. With over 17 million global users, it’s expansive overseas sales and service network allows LEPAS to rapidly scale without building distribution channels from scratch. This strategic alignment enables LEPAS to accelerate its “Exquisite Life Experience Journey”, bringing innovation and refinement to global drivers.

Rapid Progress and Global Presence

According to Zhong Wei, Deputy CEO of LEPAS, the brand was “born in Rome,” reflecting its international ambition from inception. Since then, it has made rapid progress. The brand’s first model, the LEPAS L8, rolled off the production line in April and was well received for its design, intelligent cockpit, spacious interior, and advanced safety features.

On July 23, LEPAS showcased its expanding product portfolio—including the L8, L6, and L4—at the Indonesia International Auto Show, drawing strong interest and generating initial orders. This debut marks an important step in LEPAS’s journey to redefine mobility experiences across Southeast Asia and other global markets.

Leveraging Chery’s Strengths

LEPAS’s product development is deeply integrated with Chery Group’s advanced R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain systems. By leveraging Chery’s cutting-edge technologies and mature ecosystem, LEPAS maintains a competitive edge while reducing development costs and time-to-market.

Chery’s recent accomplishments provide LEPAS with more than just credibility—they offer a robust foundation across trust, innovation, distribution, and industrial resources. This synergy is acting as an “acceleration engine” for LEPAS’s global ambitions.

With its unique proposition, “Colorful Life, Masterful Drive,” LEPAS is set to become a major player in the international premium auto market, offering vehicles that combine technological sophistication with emotional appeal.

As Chery and LEPAS continue to grow in tandem, they are not only redefining Chinese automotive success but also setting new benchmarks for globalization in the smart mobility era.
