Bybit CEO Ben Zhou Unveils Ambitious Vision for Crypto’s Future at Mid-Year Keynote

DUBAI, UAE At a pivotal moment for the global cryptocurrency industry, Bybit — the world’s second-largest crypto exchange by trading volume — unveiled a bold new direction during its mid-year keynote, led by CEO and Co-founder Ben Zhou. Titled “Keynote with Ben: Reshaping What’s Next, Bit by Bit,” the address offered a sweeping overview of Bybit’s future plans, highlighting its deep commitment to innovation, regulation, and real-world utility.

Celebrating six years of service, over 74 million users, and having established itself as the preferred platform for 1 in 8 crypto enthusiasts globally, it used the keynote to affirm its mission: “Rewrite Your Success. Reshape The Standard.”

A New Era of Compliance and Trust

Opening with a focus on regulation, Zhou stressed that compliance is no longer optional — it’s foundational. It is now fully compliant with the EU’s MiCAR regulation and registered with FIU-India, setting a benchmark for regulatory transparency and sustainable growth.

“Trust is the foundation of everything in crypto,” said Zhou. “At Bybit, compliance isn’t a constraint — it’s a competitive advantage that builds the road for long-term innovation.”

Responding to Crisis with Leadership

Zhou also addressed the aftermath of the largest crypto-related vendor attack in history earlier this year. Though Bybit’s infrastructure was not compromised, the company responded proactively by undergoing nine internal and external security audits and implementing over 50 advanced safeguards. This rigorous approach has set a new industry benchmark for resilience and security, earning global recognition.

Infrastructure Enhancements for Trading Excellence

It reported major performance upgrades, including a new matching engine capable of processing 3.5 million transactions per second. Daily order volume surged to nearly 200 billion, marking a 75% year-over-year increase. Additionally, the extension of the Rapid Price Improvement (RPI) mechanism to perpetual contracts has resulted in 150% higher liquidity and significantly better trade execution — particularly for institutional clients.

Wealth Management in the Digital Age

With a growing demand for crypto asset preservation among high-net-worth individuals and institutions, Bybit has launched a dedicated wealth management platform. This new service, already managing $150 million in assets, delivers curated portfolios and bespoke strategies supported by it’s trading and security infrastructure.

Bridging the Physical and Digital: Bybit Card

Bybit also introduced the latest evolution of its Bybit Card — a crypto-native business and personal spending tool now integrated with Visa and Mastercard. The card enables real-time spending, enhanced security, and detailed tracking. The service is launching in the EU this month, with plans to expand into Peru and Colombia by Q4 2025.

Real-World Payments and Adoption

Bybit’s payment infrastructure is making crypto more usable than ever. The platform now supports QR-based payments in Southeast Asia and Latin America, which has resulted in a 719% quarter-over-quarter growth in usage. Partnerships with major local services such as Rappi and Vivaticket are accelerating crypto adoption for everyday use.

Bybit Lite and Passive Earning Tools

To broaden accessibility, Zhou introduced the upgraded Bybit App featuring Bybit Lite, a simplified platform for casual users. It includes a revamped Earn section, which offers easy-to-use tools for generating passive income, activating idle capital, and managing digital assets with minimal friction.

Strategic Collaboration with Mantle 2.0

A major highlight was Bybit’s deeper integration with the Mantle ecosystem, signaling a strong push into institutional-grade DeFi infrastructure. With leaders like Helen Liu and Emily Bao taking advisory roles, the partnership aims to accelerate on-chain finance, focusing on scalability, liquidity, and governance aligned with regulatory norms.

Looking Ahead: Redefining Success in Crypto

Zhou concluded the keynote by emphasizing a shift in mindset. “Crypto is evolving beyond speculation. We’re building tools that are secure, scalable, and practical — for everyone, from first-time users to sophisticated investors,” he said. “Bybit’s next chapter is about reshaping the space for good.”

With this roadmap, Bybit is not just expanding — it is transforming how crypto platforms operate, focusing on trust, usability, and meaningful real-world applications.
